Hollowmind on Facebook August 3rd, 2011
We've recently developed our definitive page on Facebook. This is another important channel for news and fan/band interaction.
We invite you to support us by clicking on "Like" and bringing other fans!
Rolling Stone magazine June 14th, 2011
The band is featured in this month's issue of worldwide famous Rolling Stone magazine, Brazil edition. A brief update on the pre-production process of our next album can be found under section "RS Ouviu", in which every month a new band in the Brazilian music scene is highlighted.
Hollowmind in iTunes March 10th, 2011
Hollowmind's debut "Soundscape of Emotions" is finally available for purchase in digital format at iTunes stores!
The band decided to extend pre-production work a bit and current plans are to enter studio in July to record their upcoming album. Roberto shared the excitement of the band in an exclusive interview for ProgArchives: "This line-up now has a 4-year experience playing together and this means a lot when it comes to puttin' up the new songs, ‘cause we know better how to leverage the individual capabilities and build a sound that deeply and truly represents the three of us".
The band has ten songs fully written, only a few arrangements away. "It's been such a rewarding and fun experience, because this time the process has been completely different: the album was kinda fully conceived from the beginning, and we built the songs carefully so that we could fulfill that vision we had". Roberto reveals that the new album will display a natural continuation of the musical style developed in Soundscape of Emotions – although "with better and more consistent songwriting and production" –, and that the it will have, again, a central concept as far as lyrics are concerned. "All in all, I think it’s gonna be a major leap forward to us; I’m confident our current fans will like it" finishes the bassist.
After a few months of rest (which have been great for regaining some energy), Hollowmind is back - and with good news!
The pre-production phase of our upcoming album has just started. With no title defined yet, the CD will have ten songs, and the writing process is quite advanced.
We already have the basic structure of all songs, with lyrics also ready in most cases. During the next few months, we will finish all necessary arrangements. And, of course, rehearse a lot! We plan to enter studio early next year and hope to finish the album by mid 2011.
We're really excited about it all! The new songs seem to bear our 'identity' but, at the same time, they bring new sounds and ideas, which is really good.
In addition to that, some other awesome news: our drummer Felipe Gomes will take charge of arranging, playing and recording the instrument in the album, from the other side of the globe... (God bless technology!) In other words, Felipe is rejoining the band! Let's all welcome him back and hope our schedules will meet also for the new tour after the album comes out.
The news aren't stopping here... Keep an eye in the band's channels (official website, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter) for more info from now on; we're going to publish updates here and there about the whole thing.
Cheers,
Roberto
Line-up change Feruary 3rd, 2010
First off, a wonderful 2010 to everybody!
We start the year with somewhat sad news for us. Due to professional purposes, Felipe has moved from the country and, among other consequences brought by this change, had to leave Hollowmind.
In the last couple of years, Felipe has been more than an outstanding drummer; he really teamworked and helped define the band's identity. With his influences and musical background, contributed to build the "Hollowmind sound", and with his talent, gave life to the songs recorded in "Soundscape of Emotions". On top of that, and needless to say, he is our best friend and a kind of a brother to us, and his daily presence will be missed. We thank him a lot for everything he did for the band and wish the best of luck in this new phase!
"The show must go on", so effective immediately, we're in search of a new drummer for the band, hoping to do more shows and write new songs in 2010.
The "position" requires good technique in heavy metal (including double bass) and progressive rock, interest in developing authentic music, living in (Greater) São Paulo, with own equipment and availability for weekly rehersals.
Those interested must send an e-mail to info@hollowmind.com.br with contact data and any reference to their musical work (videos, myspace, .mp3, etc).
Cheers,
Roberto Gutierrez and Alexandre Silveira

New Videos on YouTube June 26th, 2008
Watch two more videos from Hollowmind's release event in the following links. One of them features the special participation of Hangar's lead vocalist Nando Fernandes!
Leandro Brou, the mastermind behind electronic music project "Thisisto", has re-edited five songs from the album "Soundscape of Emotions": "Cry", "Future Black", "Beyond the Distance", "Shallow Room" and "The River". Check out his innovative work with Hollowmind here.
Thisisto's proposition is to de-construct and re-interpret existing songs, by using specific software and edition techniques. "When somebody writes a song, each listener can understand it in his/her particular way. The possibility to render countless perspectives is one of the most wonderful things of this form of art" says Brou.
Roberto Gutierrez, Hollowmind's bassist and vocalist agrees: "it's always interesting to have heavy metal dialogue with other musical manifestations. I believe this type of intiative, unseen in the Brazilian scene, contributes a lot to the genre's evolution and diversification".
Apart from Thisisto, Brou is also plays bass in the jazz duo "Pe na Cozinha". The band is performing every friday this month at Bar B, in Sao Paulo.

New Album Out Now November 7th, 2007
Hollowmind’s debut album “Soundscape of Emotions” has just been released by Die Hard Records, a Brazilian label specialized in heavy metal and classic rock. Produced by Udo Stramm, the CD brings a remarkable combination between the power of heavy metal music – influenced by many subgenres but keeping its core characteristics – with the musical complexity of classic progressive rock.
The album has a unique lyrical concept. Each song talks about a specific aspect in the vast range of one’s emotions, turning the album into a small soundtrack for the human feelings.
